◆滋賀県 多賀大社の万灯祭◆
日時：2025年8月3日（日）〜8月5日（火）19:00-21:30に点灯🏮
万灯祭とは、黄泉の国で祖先の御霊をご守護される伊邪那美命に感謝の献灯をするお祭りです。全国から寄せられた10,000灯以上の提灯が10数段に組まれ、高いポールに掲げられるさまは見事で、湖国の夏の風物詩としても有名です。
境内では、猿楽や多賀音頭、キャラクターショーなどが行われ、連日夕涼みとかねて多くの参拝者で賑わいます。

Festival Season in Shiga
Alongside the revered Ise Grand Shrine, Taga Taisha—known affectionately as “O-Taga-sama”—will soon host its annual Mantō Festival (Lantern Festival) 🏮
From our inn, it’s easily accessible by car or train. If you love nightscapes or traditional festivals, this enchanting event is not to be missed!
◆ Mantō Festival at Taga Taisha, Shiga ◆
🗓 Dates: August 3 (Sun) – August 5 (Tue), 2025
🕖 Lantern Illumination: 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
The Mantō Festival is a ceremonial offering of light, giving thanks to the deity Izanami-no-Mikoto, who is said to protect ancestral spirits in the land of Yomi (the afterlife).
More than 10,000 lanterns from across Japan are beautifully arranged in tiers and raised on tall poles, creating a breathtaking spectacle. It’s a cherished summer tradition in Shiga.
Festivities include traditional Sarugaku performances, folk dances like the Taga Ondo, and character shows, drawing many visitors who enjoy the evening breeze.
